The investment business we are standing up now: the same research, modeling, and risk engine behind our East African market-making work, turned toward managing capital. It starts on the firm's own book, and opens to external mandates as the rules mature.
Building market-making for East African venues has taught us their microstructure from the inside: how they print, where liquidity hides, and what actually moves a price. That knowledge is the edge a systematic investment book is built on.
So the investment business does not start from a distance, or from someone else's model of these markets. It starts from the order book up, in the venues we work in.
Where it starts.
The book runs on the firm's own capital first. In parallel we are working with regulators to open the path for pooled and external mandates as East African hedge-fund frameworks mature.
The investment business does not start from zero. It reuses the research platform, the data, and the risk engine built for the market-making business, and turns them toward managing capital over longer horizons.
One data platform. One risk framework. One team that already knows these markets from the order book up. The output changes from a quote to a position; the machinery underneath does not.
Patient capital and a long horizon, engineered like infrastructure rather than chased quarter to quarter.

Market making first, managing capital next.
